That is amazing, Alex!! I am entranced by the water adventure & adding wine into the mix just elevates it that much more! I can’t wait to try this wine. Bravo!
I cannot wait to show you some more pictures and recap the whole adventure! I have a whole vertical lineup being built in the shop. We will get you a bottle to enjoy. Cheers!
Super cool experience! When I was last in the region. I continually played " where is the Willamette" (think where's Waldo) as it always seems to be near but not necessarily where you think she is.
So you launched in Salem? And where did you pull out? I think of the area as quite populated but maybe that isn't quite right... i assume Brad has some known overnight camp spots?
The river is always just over some hill or valley! It's there, in the periphery, but it remains elusive. I know what you mean.
We launched in the Independence area, near Salem. We pulled out about 10 miles away from Portland at a state park where the distributor met us. Brad is so well respected and known that he has no issue setting up places to stay overnight. Folks seem pretty eager to host us, I would say.
That is spectacular! What a great experience that must have been! I love how you understand the "elusive" aspect of the Willamette... (perfect word by the way). I appreciate all this in many levels... as an avid outdoorswoman (canoeing is where it all started), a wino, and a person who hold a special place in her heart for the region and its people.
This isn't something that many can have claimed to have done - what an adventure! And the pictures are beautiful - thanks for sharing! So, there weren't any Marriott's along the river? HAHA

Or 2,3,4… 😄
What an amazing experience. So glad you did it!!!
At least the canoe got lighter with each bottle consumed? What a fun adventure!
The more wine we drank, the lighter the canoe became.
That is the trick right there!

How many bottles did you haul?

We did a total of 7 cases in ours!
